Pingzishang is the first of many high bridges along the G4215 expressway that extends north from the G56 to Renhuai, Guizhou and eventually to Chishui, Chongqing. Since the south end of Pingzishang terminates into a tunnel, the two viaducts are spaced several meters apart with the southbound structure at least 3 meters higher then the northbound viaduct.
