Jinyin'ao Bridge might only be around 50 meters high but the crossing is just a few meters upstream from a spectacular waterfall that plunges at least 150 meters into a river gorge that flows into the Jinshajiang River. The structure has a configuration of 55+110+55 meters.
The improved 2-lane road was built to allow easier access to the construction and operation of the giant 240 meter tall Wudongde Dam across the Jinshajiang River between Yunnan and Sichuan Provinces.
