The cantilevered beam bridge has a maximum pier height of 56 meters and carries a 2-lane road east to the entrance of the giant Wushan Yangtze River bridge, one of the largest and most spectacular arch bridges ever built. A gateway to the city of Wushan, millions of visitors a year pass under the bridge as they travel up through the famous 3 Gorges region of the Yangtze River.

The crossing has had previous names including Xiatuogou and Baiyangxi Bridges.

A half through arch with a main span of 1,509 feet (460 meters), Wushan ranks among the world’s 20 longest span arch bridges.
