Boligou Bridge
玻璃沟特大桥
Galaxiang, Sichuan, China
(394) feet high / (120) meters high
558 foot span / 170 meter span
2017

Boligou Bridge is the first of many high bridges that will be built in and along route X037 that will be submerged from a deep reservoir that will form behind the giant Lianghekou Dam. Located at the confluence of the Yalong, Xianshi and Qingda River, the 295 meter high embankment dam will be one of the 10 tallest in the world when completed in 2021.

Boligou Bridge is a CFST (Concrete Filled Steel Tubular) bridge. Once the arch was closed, concrete was pumped into the main arch rib tubes from the bottom up. Once hardened, the concrete solidifies and stiffens the arch, improving the compressive strength of the entire structure.

The 247 meter long bridge has approach spans of 3 x 13 meters and one of 20 meters.
