Diaolanhe Bridge
吊兰河大桥
Bijie, Guizhou, China
(295) feet high / (90) meters high
361 foot span / 110 meter span
2012
One of many high bridges spread around the Bijie Airport, the Diaolanhe arch bridge was completed in 2012 as part of a short north-south road that links up to the east-west Bijie Airport expressway. The road terminates at the southern end where it meets the G56 expressway entrance.
The 165 meter long bridge has a central arch span of 110 meters over the Diaolan River that was constructed with rows of tightly spaced Bailey-trusses with spans of 106 meters. The side by side ribs were built separately allowing the same Bailey false-work to be re-used for the parallel rib. This arch bridge was built at the same time with similar construction methods as the nearby Diaolanhe Bijie Airport Expressway arch bridge which has a slightly larger span of 120 meters.
