The Yunnan portion of the G56 expressway must rise and descend into many great river valleys but few are more massive then the Nujiang River gorge. The long elevation climb to the west is punctuated by many small gullies including the Gaoligongshan Bridge that is over 100 meters from the deck to the creek.
