Niuluhe Bridge is part of a high level realignment of route S230 that avoids the steep descent into the Niulu River gorge in Western Hunan Province.

The 195 meter span concrete arch has a rise of 39 meters. The approach spans are all 20 meters. A highline with a span of 383 meters was used to lower the arch pieces into place above the canyon.

The older Niuluhe stone arch bridge still provides access to tourists looking to raft down the river.
