Mentue Bridge
Pont sur la Mentue
Yverdon-les-Bains, Vaud, Switzerland
377 feet high / 115 meters high
492 foot span / 150 meter span
1999
A beautiful haunched girder bridge on Switzerland’s A1 motorway, the Mentue bridge rises approximately 377 feet (115 mtrs) above the Mentue River. Like most bridges of the type, the spans were built outward from the tall piers using the balanced cantilever method. Nearly as high as the Mentue viaduct is the neighboring Vaux Viaduct located just to the east.
