Beipanjiang Bridge Huayeyan
北盘江花叶岩大桥
Changliuxiang, Guizhou, China
(394) feet high / (120) meters high
361 foot span / 110 meter span
2012
Wedged between cliffs several hundred meters high, the Beipanjiang Bridge Huayeyan is in a picture perfect setting that really enhances the beauty of the small concrete bridge. Although the span is only about 40 meters above the lake that was formed by the Guangzhou Dam, another 80 meters of reservoir depth brings the total height to around 120 meters. The arch is located along the Qinglong to Yuxi highway that also includes a similar arch named Liangfengyan that crosses the Azihe River 5 kilometers to the east.
The Beipanjiang is one of the greatest high bridge rivers in the world with more then 10 bridges that cross it that exceed 100 meters in height. Only the Wujiang River has a greater collection of high bridges.
