One of the highest and most beautiful spans in all of Northern China, the Jinghe Dongzhuang Dam Bridge is a 2-lane, Y-shaped steel through arch with pedestrian walkways on both sides of the bridge.
The 284 meter long Jinghe Dongzhuang Dam Bridge has a span configuration of 19.5+220+19.5 meters and a width that varies between 18 and 36 meters. The converging nature of the two arch ribs results in the deck suspender cables going from a pair on both sides of the outer edge on the south end of the span to just one centerline row of suspender cables on the north end. There is a visitors center and parking area on the north side of the bridge.
A previous arch design with a main span of 193 meters.
Another previous design.
Access paths have been cut into the cliffs for the preparation of the dam.
A temporary Jinghe Dongzhuang Dam Footbridge 200 meters high was completed in 2011.
