The highest of several gargantuan suspension bridges that cross over the famous Lancangjiang River, the Yongchang bridge soars approximately 450 meters above the surface of the Xiaowan reservoir with another 160 meters of height hidden beneath the flooded gorge.
The bridge is the largest structure on the S40 portion of the Yongping-Changning Expressway.
