Lost in the mountains of Mexico’s Jalisco state, the Puente Progreso is one of the most beautiful concrete arch bridges in North America. Designed by Mexpresa, one of Mexico City’s premier engineering firms, the bridge has great details including inclined spandrels that accentuate the curve of the arch as well as the a concrete flange on the side of the arch that wraps over and around the base of the arch. Another engineering report has the bridge as high as 433 feet (132 mtrs).
