Located about an hour drive northeast of the huge Yangtze River city of Wuhan, the Guanshihe Bridge has 3 mains spans of 120 meters within a total length of 1.1 kilometers. The maximum pier height is 95 meters. Started in August 10, 2008, the bridge was structurally completed by the end of 2010 and is the largest structure on the Wu Ma section of highway.

Within a stretch of just 8 miles (13 kms), the West Hurong highway crosses 4 bridges that are nearly 200 meters or higher. Between these deep valleys there are several other viaducts and tunnels including Shuinan and the nearly 4 kilometer Siduhe tunnel.
