Located in Chongqing just across the border from Guizhou Province, the Anwen Bridge is the northernmost high bridge along the G75 expressway that connects Chongqing city with Guiyang city.
The Anwen River travels through a deep concrete trough exactly 100 meters below the deck level. Just after it was completed, problems with the quality of the concrete began to surface requiring concrete repairs to the bottom surface of the base plate, the outer web and the flange plate. Epoxy concrete was also used as well as steel reinforcement plates that are easy to see on the outside of the main box beam.
