The Coaster at Playland is the last remaining Carl Phare designed wood coaster and one of his three famous Northwest twisters that included the Dipper at Bitter Lake Playland and the Big Dipper at Jantzen Beach.  Phare was one of the few coaster designers of his time who incorporated large fan curves into his rides making for more exciting turnarounds filled with lateral G forces.
