The top of the Dachstein Glacier is home to 4 major attractions. First is a cantilevered platform next to the gondola station that contains a glass panel at the tip that allows a between-the-toes view of the valley drop from an elevation of 2,700 meters. Walk further along the ridge and explore the Ice Palace, an indoor walkway filled with beautiful ice sculptures and other mysterious wonders.

The final two attractions opened in 2013 and include a suspension bridge and the Stairway to Nothingness. The suspension footbridge was completed first and crosses a deep crevasse on the south side of the ridge. The second “aerial” attraction is the small square platform that cantilevers out from the bottom of a short stairway and has only enough room for 1 or 2 people. This box of “nothingness” is made of all glass panels that will make for some fun selfies for those who are not scared of the vertigo-inducing drop below their legs.
