Huanghe Sanxia Glass Footbridge
黄河三峡玻璃桥
Xiayezhen, Henan, China
(197) feet high / (60) meters high
(1,083) foot span / (330) meter span
2019
The second longest span footbridge in Northeastern China, the Huanghe Sanxia Glass Footbridge crosses a submerged section of the Fenshi River, a tributary that leads into the famous Yellow River. The Xiaolangdi reservoir that flows below the bridge was created from the construction of a giant dam along the Yellow River making for a popular tourist region in this otherwise arid desert region of Henan Province.
The asymmetrical suspension span has a ground anchorage on the east side supporting a cable span of approximately 330 meters with around 300 meters of that as a suspended glass decked walkway. The deck is around 50 meters above a full reservoir with maybe another 10 meters of lake depth.
