Located in a remote border region of Sichuan and Yunnan Provinces, the Jinyang Jinshajiang Bridge will be the highlight of a new expressway between Xichang, Sichuan and Zhaotong, Yunnan. The 205 kilometer route will have 86.6 kilometers of bridges and 55.8 kilometers of tunnels making up 72.4% of the entire route.

The single tower cable stayed span of 340 meters is one of the longest of its type in China. The total length with side spans is 565 meters. The central tower is 197.6 meters tall supported on a foundation 75 meters deep.
