Located midway between the super cities of Xian and Chengdu, the spectacular Longdongbei arch bridge carries a 2-lane road high above a deep crevasse. A modern 4-lane highway arch bridge with a span of 145 meters was built 100 meters downstream of the older arch span and opened in 2011. The new arch span is 110 meters high or approximately 40 meters lower then the older arch. The bridges are located about 25 kilometers northeast of Guangyuan City.
