The Maling River and its upstream neighbor the Qingshui River are not as long or have gorges as deep as other more famous rivers in Guizhou Province but this river region will soon be home to a higher concentration of high bridges then any other location in the world.

The highest of these super size bridges will be near the city of Xingyi and will include Malinghe Bridges 1 to 5 as well as the older route 324 arch bridge.

The 2-lane Maling Bridge has a total length of 516 meters in a span configuration of 6x30 +77+140+77 +30 meters. Although the approach spans were completed in 2015, construction on the bridge was halted for 3 years and was not resumed until 2019.
