One of China's highest pipeline bridges, the Mengganhe suspension crossing was built to carry the Chupan natural gas line across a deep gorge in Yunnan Province. The project is an important branch of the 188.6 kilometer China-Myanmar oil and gas line.

The 545.6 meter long bridge structure has an asymmetrical span configuration of 110+360+75.7 meters.
