Nutagawa Bridge is the highest span on the E2 expressway near Hiroshima city. The giant viaduct has a span configuration of 78 + 126.58 +126.5 +147 +125 meters on piers as tall as 55 meters.

Several kilometers to the north is the spectacular Hiroshima Airport Bridge. Upon its opening in 2010, the Hiroshima 380 meter arch span became the highest bridge ever built in Japan, surpassing the Kokonoe "Yume" Otsurihashi footbridge built just three years earlier in Oita prefecture. In 2010 the Shintabisoko Bridge in Gifu surpassed it with a deck 210 meters high.
