The highest bridge on the 126 kilometer long Biwei Expressway between Bijie and Weining in Guizhou Province, the giant Qixinghe Bridge crosses high above the deep gorge of the Liuchonghe River. This waterway forms the north fork of the Wujiang River which has more high bridges across it then any other river on earth. Despite being lower in height then Qixinghe, the nearby Hezhang Bridge gets all the media attention with its epic central pier of 195 meters. The third great bridge on the route is the Tian Bridge which is almost 200 meters high.

Located at kilometer 75, the Qixinghe Bridge has a span configuration of 9×40 +106+200+106 +3×40 meters atop piers 110 and 98 meters tall.
