Shaxi Bridge is one of China's most unique beam bridge spans with an exposed internal steel truss below a concrete deck slab. This type of bridge design is popular in France, Spain and Japan but rare in China.

The two Shaxi viaducts are 1,398 and 1,408 meters long with a central span configuration of 100+176+176+100 meters on piers as tall as 117 meters. The six lane deck is 33.5 meters wide and is one of the largest structures on the Puyan expressway near Sanming city, Fujian Province.
