Mostly submerged under the huge 3 Gorges reservoir, the Shennongxi River bridge cuts across one of the Yangtze River’s largest tributaries near Badong. A simple 3 span concrete beam bridge, the Shennongxi’s western pier is 295 feet (90 mtrs) high. The nearby Badong Yangtze cable stayed bridge is the closest downstream crossing to the 3 Gorges dam.
