Shiniushan Glass Viewing Platform is quite possibly the second highest cantilevered platform in the world. Jutting out from a cliff within the Shiniu Mountain tourist area of Fujian Province, the popular tourist attraction can only be reached via a ropeway gondola. Unlike many cantilevered platforms that are supported by tall, often unattractive support towers, the cable stays of the Shiniushan Glass Viewing Platform are anchored directly into the hillside slope behind the cliff. The spectacular location was chosen for its proximity to a waterfall that cascades down a karst wall approximately 300 meters high.
