The Taihong Yangtze River Bridge is the fourth longest span across the Yangtze to be located upstream of the 3 Gorges Dam. Completed in 2020, the 808 meter suspension span is 1,436 meters long with a span configuration of 4x40 +808 +2x120 +7x30 meters. The most unusual design element of the bridge is the use of a cantilevered double beam span of 120+120 meters on the north end. This is was previously used on the nearby Fuling Qingcaobei Yangtze and Fuma Yangtze Bridges that are also in Chongqing Province.

The deck is approximately 110 meters above the full 3 Gorges reservoir with another 20 meters to the original surface of the Yangtze River.
