Taiping Footbridge
太平雲梯
Chiayi, Taiwan, China
(197) feet high / (60) meters high
922 foot span / 281 meter span
2017

Completed in 2017, the Taiping Footbridge is one of Taiwan's few major tourist bridge attractions. Crossing a beautiful tree-filled canyon, the giant 281 meter main suspension span is unique for having a double transitional ramp and stair ascent on the south end. The north end of the bridge is also unusual with a back span that was shortened by having the main cables bending downward over a pair of large steel pipe supports.
