The Wujiang Shandu bridge is one of at least half a dozen spans to cross more than 328 feet (100 mtrs) above the Wujiang River in China’s Guizhou province. The span was eventually inundated under a deep reservoir from a downstream dam. Located in a remote region far from any major highways, the prestressed concrete beam bridge can be reached on a one day round trip drive from Guiyang. The main span is 400 feet (122 mtrs) long with side spans of 71 meters for a total length of 271 meters. The two slender piers are 84.71 and 58.76 meters tall and support a beam 9 meters wide.
