Viaducto de Zarimutz
Marin, País Vasco, Spain
(295) feet high / (90) meters high
315 foot span / 96 meter span
2009

One of two high beam bridges on the new AP-1 highway between the Spanish cities of Vitoria-Gasteiz and Eibar, the Zarimutz Viaduct rises approximately 295 feet (90 mtrs) with a maximum pier height of 249 feet (76 mtrs). The stretch between Eskoriatza and Urbina was the most difficult to build with several large tunnels and viaducts making up 51 percent of the total highway length of 6.7 miles (10.8 kms). In addition to the 1,586 foot (483.46 mtr) long Viaducto de Zarimutz, there is the nearby Viaducto de Marin and the Viaducto Mazmela. The Marin Bridge is probably about 361 feet (110 mtrs) high. The Isuskitza tunnel is one of Spain’s longest at 2.1 miles (3.4 kms).
