One of the highest concrete beam bridges in Spain upon its completion in 1979, the Cuesta da Silva Viaduct was doubled in 2010 with a parallel span making the carretera into a 4-lane route with increased capacity. The original 1979 viaduct has a central pier of 106 meters and a span configuration of 58,0 + 90,0 + 120,0 + 90,0 + 58,0 m for a total length of 416 meters. The deck is 11.6 meters wide.

The 2010 viaduct has a central pier of 110 meters and a span configuration of 50,15 + 108,8 + 114,5 + 108,8 + 50,15 m for a total length of 432.4 meters. The deck is 15.5 meters wide.

The new viaduct has a significant curve with a radius of only 390 meters and a gradient slope of 6%.

Other high beam bridges on Gran Canaria include Guiniguada Viaduct near San José Artesano and the Tenoya Viaduct near the town of the same name. Though not as high as the three previous bridges at 230 feet (70 mtrs), a unique cable stayed bridge is planned near the town of Teror, higher up on the slope of a Gran Canaria volcano.
