Goutiaoyan Bridge and its sister span Maweihe are located midway between Shuicheng City and the Beipanjiang Duge Bridge, the highest crossing in the world. Goutiaoyan is composed of two back to back 120 meter beam spans on piers as tall as 87 meters.

Just to the west of Goutiaoyan Bridge is the single pier, T-beam Maweihe Bridge which has a single main pier also 87 meters tall. The G56 expressway arguably has the greatest collection of super high bridges in the world with Beipanjiang Duge, Puli and Dimuhe falling in the 300 to 500 meter height range.
