One of the largest railway viaducts on earth, the colossal Xinqiao Railway Yuwan Bridge is part of the Chongqing to Wanzhou High Speed Railway line near the city of Fuling. The viaduct parallels the older double track Yu-Li Railway line Xinqiao Bridge that connects to nearby Hubei Province. Completed in 2013, it is now possible to travel by rail from Shanghai to Chongqing in just 8 hours.

The northern Xinqiao Yuwan Railway Bridge is 1,838.5 meters long while the older southern viaduct is 2,550 meters long.

Xinqiao is one of two back to back bridges that are part of the 4 largest high level railway viaducts on earth. Located to the west of Xinqiao are the Caijiagou Railway viaducts which have 2 of the largest railway piers on earth rising 150 and 139 meters meters from foundation to the underside of the beam.

The entire Chongqing to Wanzhou HSR line has approximately a dozen bridges that exceed 90 meters in height.
