Yelanghu Bridge crosses high above the photogenic Yelanghu reservoir on the S55 Chishui-Wangmo Expressway between Zhijin and Puding. The bridge is one of 3 parallel arch spans that represent a short history of Chinese highway progress. The lowest span is an arch truss that was probably completed around 1990.
Yelanghu Bridge consists of a main span of 210 meters between foundation faces making for a span to rise ratio of 5:1. The crossing has 30 meter approach spans.
The deck is 86 meters above a normal reservoir level or approximately 120 meters above the original river level.
