Yanxizi Bridge
燕溪子大桥
Hushizhen, Guizhou, China
295 feet high / 90 meters high
(131) foot span / (40) meter span
2013
Although most of the high beam bridges on the Renchi Expressway and elsewhere in China have long spans constructed by the balanced cantilevered method, more conventional viaducts with simple drop-in spans often exceed 90 meters in height if the piers do not have to be too tall. Yanxizi is a good example of this type of bridge. The plaque states that the bridge has only 4 spans of 30 meters but the finished structure looks to have 6 spans of 40 meters.
