Tongchehe Bridge is one of the 20 highest beam bridges in the world. The 1,458 meter long viaduct is located along the Zhenqi expressway that connects the Yibi expressway (Yibin to Bijie) with the G76 expressway.
The Tongche gorge is crossed by a giant three span configuration of 96+3x180+96 meters on piers as tall as 167 meters.
Although the center spans of the bridge were completed in 2023, the approach spans were still not completed by early 2025 as the Guizhou end of the expressway has been on hold.
