Dajianshan Skywalk
Chinese Name
Guangyuan, Sichuan, China
(164) feet high / (50) meters high
(98) foot span / (30) meter span
2014
Sichuan’s first cantilevered tourist platform may also be China’s largest. Opened in 2014, the Dajianshan Skywalk consists of a large mesh of steel beams that support a semi-circle of glass walkways cantilevered out over the edge of a large forested valley south of Guangyuan city. While the aesthetics might not be a whole lot nicer then the foundation to a skyscraper, this colossal cantilever grid should be able to handle even the largest holiday crowds.
