Haizhaigou UFO Glass Footbridge
海寨沟飞碟玻璃桥
Pingliang, Gansu, China
(230) feet high / (70) meters high
1,969 foot span / 600 meter span
2023

The Haizhaigou UFO Glass Footbridge opened in 2023 as the longest glass pedestrian bridge in China and the second longest footbridge in the world. Actually composed of two separate 600 meter footbridges that crisscross in the middle, this unusual structure is highlighted by a circular glass platform in the center made to resemble a UFO. The bridge deck itself is composed of a mesh grate supported by a double stack of three cables on either edge for a total of 12 cables per span. The deck is stiffened by a horizontal Warren truss as well as a number of wind cables.

The Haizhaigou scenic area also has a older, smaller glass suspension bridge as well as a mountain water slide and zip line.
