Once Japan's highest bridge, the 71 meter high Sekinosawa Railway Bridge opened in 1954 on the Oigawa Railway in Shizuoka Prefecture. The 114 meter long structure consists of a truss-arch with a span of 84 meters.
The Oigawa Railway route has become one of Japan's most popular tourist attractions with guests passing across or under several spectacular bridges. The most notable of these is the Okuoi Rainbow Railway Bridge that crosses high above Sesso Lake. The 474 meter long Warren-deck truss structure is split by the Okuōikojō Station.
The Okuizumi and Shinsesso 2-lane road bridges also span 70 meters above the Oi River with both steel and concrete arch ribs.
