590 feet high / 180 meters high
787 foot span / 240 meter span
2013
There are more then a dozen high beam bridges on the new G69 Fengfu expressway that skirts along the east side of the Yangtze River gorge in Chongqing Province but there is no question which one is the king of them all. With a gargantuan central span of 240 meters, the Longhe Bridge dominates the large river that makes up the northern border of central Fengdu city.
The span configuration is 10x40 +127+240+127 +7x40 meters. The deep waters of the 3 Gorges reservoir hide much of the true height of the span which is 180 meters to the original river level. The main beam of Longhe Bridge is 15 meters deep over the piers and 4.5 meters at mid-span. The deck is 11.75 meters wide with the roadway width being 10.75 meters wide.
