The Three Gorges Bridge is a large steel box stiffened 6-lane suspension bridge with a main span of 1,200 meters on the Yichang West Ring Expressway. The spectacular span crosses a deep canyon of the Yangtze River Gorge where a lake has formed below the Gezhouba Dam near Yichang City. The towers are 190 and 182 meters high and the width is 40.5 meters supporting 8 lanes of traffic. The bridge was originally to be named the Nanjinguan Yangtze River Bridge.
An older render of the previously named Nanjinguan Yangtze River Bridge that had an A-shaped tower design where the main cables meet at the tower top.
